Where Will Your Tax Rebate Go?

"The money is going to help Americans offset the high prices we're seeing at the gas pump, the grocery store, and also give our economy a boost to help us pull out of this economic slowdown," President Bush has said.

There has been a 4% increase in consumer prices in the past year. That is the biggest increase in 17 years! The tax rebate is supposed to be used to stimulate the economy in hopes that consumers will purchase more. The question is: How far will your tax rebate go?

With the overwhelming increase in gas, groceries, and travel, your tax rebate seems to only offset the higher prices, which does not make it seem like free money anymore. For example, how much did you spend per month on gas two years ago compared to now? What about for groceries? The dollar difference could eventually lead to what you get back in your tax rebate. In addition, eventually we will be taxed on this money next year which goes directly back to the government.

There is a potential lesson here. When you decide what to do with your tax rebate, consider investing it.

So, tell me, what do you plan on doing with your tax rebate??

this tax rebate BS is just another sham in the long line of currupt politicians screwing over the general public and creating an imense inequality of wealth in this society. do you really think an extra 300,600, or even 1200 is gonna make any sort of difference. when the gas prices, food prices and the price of almost everything else is through the roof, what is that money gonna do? well if your'e not a complete dummy you will pay down credit cards or fill up on gas while its still barely under 4 bucks a gallon in the bay area. dont even get me started on food this money is just a measly bone for the masses of working class people in this country, so we won't bitch. do you think the cats who make even hundreads of thousands a year(the very bottom of the upper eschelon) care that gas is 4 bucks a gallon, they dont care because the company pays for it anyway. its all tax write offs and deductions for those cats but the working poor are the people gettin bent over with no vaseline if u know what i mean! the price of living in this country continue to quietly creep beyond our reach as the rich keep raking it in. wake up people we're gettin f*%ked and we dont even know it ! watch zeitgeist online for free it is a crazy real documentary that will open your eyes!

I am keeping it in my savings account and allowing it to gain that marginal interest. For most American's I feel they will use it to catch up on bills that they have been putting off or making minimal payments on.

I'll just invest it in stocks and try to triple it within 3 months.
